About Petra

Hi, my name is Petra, and I am a qualified physiotherapist and educator in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I was born in Lübeck in 1966.
In 1985, I trained as a medical-technical assistant at the Medical University of Lübeck (MUzL), qualifying as a physiotherapist in 1994.
With this training, I have worked at the University of Lübeck and in an independent physiotherapy practice.

At this time I also started Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong.
This enabled me to combine the ancient art of movement with scientific backgrounds through my additional neurological training (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Faciality – PNF).

As I quickly became dissatisfied with the limited standard physiotherapeutic treatments, I learned cranio-sacral therapy and visceral osteopathy from international lecturers such as Donald Howitt and Maat Piepers.
In 1999 I also started a 3-year training in Tuina (Chinese Manual Therapy), in addition to 5 full-time years of training in Chinese Medicine.

I have also completed training in Balance Acupuncture with Richard Tan, Medical Taping with Physio Tape, training in the Fascia Distortion Model (FDM) off the Typaldos Method and training in the URSA Method.

In 2002, my husband and I founded a practice for Traditional Chinese Medicine. In this practice I was able to use the knowledge I had gained up to that point freely and individually for each patient, achieving remarkable synergies.

After leaving our practice behind, we went to Portugal to develop a Sustainable Living Project.
Since then, both my husband and I have been traveling a lot to give courses and seminars, to pass on our accumulated knowledge.
